The island is the 5th largest island in the country with 168 square kilometers and 9000 inhabitants. It´s located on the east coast in the southern part of the country, north of Koh Samui and south from Koh Tao. It´s mostly famous for the beachpartys that they proudly presents every full moon, and that´s why they just call it "full moon party". They normally have more than 10 000 of young people dancing and having fun on the beach. Else on the island your option is to relax, tour around, party and you also have the option of diving.

Diving: There are a selection of dive schools on the island where you can do your divecourse, or just take a dive tour nearby or to Koh Tao.

Song Taew (Pickup with seats on the back.), rental motorbikes.
Beaches:
Haad Rin: Mostly known for the monthly returning beachparty called "the full moon party", that takes place on this beach.
Chaloklum Bay: Located on the north side of the island and a good beach for fishingboats to park. So you can watch the fishermans work or just buy fish. This is also a good place for testing your snorkeling equipment.
Knaud Beach: Is located on the north side side of the the island, a good beach for peace and quiet and perfect from swimming and snorkeling. But therre are limited with bungalows on this beach.

This island is not known for it´s shopping, but now have opened a larger supermarket named Tesco Lotus.
To do?
You can rent kayaks every where on the island.
How to get to the island?
Bus: There are trips from every place in the country like Bangkok and Phuket.
Flyg: You can take to Koh Samui or Surrathani and then take a boat from there to the island.
Train: You can take to Surrathani on the mainland from Bangkok.
