Beaches:
Chaweng Beach: The largest beach where you can find everything like shopping, restaurants of different nationalities.
Lamai Beach: The second largest beach that have restaurants and bars from different nationalities.
Mae Nam, Chong Mon Beach, Big Buddha Beach and Bophut Beach: Located on the northern side of the island, with less restaurants and shopping. Several luxery resorts have is located in this area.
Where you should shop?
Nathon: (the islands capitol) have alot of small shops with clothing, bags and things.
Chaweng Beach: Have nicer trend shops and small stands along the beachroad.
Supermarkets (Tesco Lotus, Big C, Macro): Here you can find food, clothing and other things. These shops are located near Chaweng Beach.

To see?
Big Buddha: The most popular tourist attraction on the island is a 15 meter high statue. It´s located on the northeast part.
The mumified munk: Is a natural mumified munk located close to a temple on the south side of the island.
Waterfall: There are several waterfalls, the most popular is Namuang 1 & 2 where you can enjoy elefant trekking crocodile and elefant show, a large natural swimmingpool and more.
Samui Aquarium and Tiger zoo: A nice activity for the hole family where you can see fish, sharks, turtles, birds and tigers.
Hin Ta / Hin Yai: Means grandmother and grandfather statues and a popular site. The statues is natural formed as the female and male sex organs. They are located 1 km. south of Lamai Beach.
How to get to the island?
Bus: There a different bustrips from places like Bangkok and Phuket.
Flight: You can take a flight with Bangkok Air, Thai Airways from different places.
Train: To Surrathani on the mainland from Bangkok. |
